Halal Japanese Cuisine Management and Global Major "Halal Restaurant"

Hello everyone 🤗

AlwaysTOKYO YAMANOTEThank you for visiting the blog of

.

Did you read my previous blog, "Learning about Tokyo Yamate '+α'"?

Tokyo Yamate's "+α" Learning | Tokyo Yamate Culinary College | Culinary school in Setagaya (yamanote.ac.jp)

This time, we will introduce how the menus devised in the class were actually served in the restaurant training!

It is a [halal restaurant] by a global major.

.

[In the first place, what is “Halal”?] ]

according to Islamic teachingsHalal(Halal) [Arabic: حلال Halāl]"allowed"is what it means.

on the other hand,HaramAnd"Forbidden"is what it means.

Halal and Haram are ways of thinking that indicate whether "things" or "things" are permitted or forbidden by God.

For example, eating pork and alcohol is prohibited, so it is haram. Stealing and lying are also haram.

In this way, halal has a wide range of relationships for Muslims (Muslims), not only what they eat, but also clothing, life in general, and services. It is sometimes pronounced halal or halal, but both mean the same thing.

From the website of the Halal Japan Association

.

Muslims can only eat what is halal. Then

[What are good and bad things to say?] ]

Food that Muslims can eat (food permitted by God = Halal)
Vegetables, fruits, grains (rice, wheat, etc.), beans, seafood, seaweed, milk, eggs, etc.

Foods that Muslims must not eat (Forbidden by God = Haram)
・Items containing ingredients derived from pork or pigs
・Meat that has not been processed in accordance with Islamic law and its animal-derived ingredients
·blood
・Drinking alcohol and alcohol contained in seasonings (cooking sake, mirin, liqueur, etc.)
・Dogs and animals with claws
Meat of dead animals
* Interpretation differs depending on sects, countries and regions, and individuals.

.

Muslims live their lives paying attention to what they can eat and what they can't eat.

Therefore, when providing services such as meals to Muslims, it is necessary to understand the meaning of halal and haram.

Not only Muslims, but anyone doesn't want to say something they don't understand well.

Especially for foods and dishes that are unique to Japan that foreigners are not familiar with, it is important to display and disclose information clearly so that anyone can understand.

From the website of the Halal Japan Association

.

In this way, the global major has developed a menu with the aim of allowing Muslims, who are always careful about what they can and cannot eat, to enjoy Japanese cuisine with peace of mind.

.

Here is the menu for the day

So that everyone can eat with peace of mind,

Written in English/Japanese
Indication of the use of halal-certified meat
Notation that it is a no-pork, no-alcohol course menu

and created a menu.

.

Each person in charge does their own cooking.

What we always keep in mind is to keep cold things cold and hot things warm, and provide our customers with delicious meals.

.

Vice Principal Matsutani, who is in charge of Japanese cuisine, checks whether the food is suitable for serving to customers.

The menu was designed by the students.Mr. Matsutani is only the final confirmation and course correction.

The teacher also seems to be very nervous because it is halal Japanese food that is different from usual Japanese food.

Your halal Japanese cooking course is ready!

We use halal seasonings such as soy sauce and miso, and we also use halal certified chicken.

It is designed so that Muslims can enjoy their meals with peace of mind.

This is the learning of Tokyo Yamate's "+ α", not just being able to make it.

Finally, we interviewed Vice Principal Matsutani.

"I think this time it took shape. Everyone was doing well by making use of the individuality of the students who came from each department. This time, we also had the Halal Japan Association come and give us their opinions, and there were many points for improvement. I think I understand. There will be another halal restaurant, so next time I want to do my best to get the stamp of approval from the Halal Japan Association. If I do that, I will be able to realize 'from Tokyo Yamate to the world.'"
