Introduction of working students Airline → YAMANOTE admission

Hello everyone! At YAMANOTE, there are many students who enter our school after working experience.

Among them, we were able to hear from a person who worked at an airline or hotel in the United States and entered our school in his 60s!This time, we interviewed Mr. NT (first year of cooking)!

Please tell us about your background before entering the university!

I used to work for airlines and hotels in the United States.I was working in the service industry, but I returned to Japan to become a chef and enrolled in this university.

★What inspired you to become a chef?

It is said that we live in an age of 100 years.

I decided to become a chef because I wanted to make delicious meals for the rest of my life and bring happiness to people.

★What made you decide to enroll in YAMANOTE and why did you choose the school?

This is because there is no other school with such beautiful facilities and equipment.

Also, the amount of practical training hours was overwhelming compared to other schools.

★Please tell us your impressions of the Open Campus!

I had the impression that the building did not look like a school.

The building is really bright, and I was surprised at how well-equipped the facilities were, such as a restaurant space in front of the training room where customers were invited, and a real sushi counter.

The current students and teachers I met at the open campus were bright and sociable.

★Did you have any concerns before entering the school?

I was very worried about whether I would be able to survive among the young people, or whether I would be the only one standing out.

However, the students who enter the school are all like-minded people. It didn't take long to come to terms with it.

I feel that I can't lose to young people, and I think that young people don't want to lose to uncles, so there is a good synergistic effect.

It is reassuring that there are many people with experience working in society other than myself. All my pre-enrollment worries were wiped away.

★What was good about entering the school?

Every day I have practical training, I am immersed in cooking every day, I absorb various things every day, and I feel really happy that I can feel my growth.Every day is busy, but now is the most fulfilling time.

★What are your plans after graduation?

After I graduate and get my culinary license, I will return to the United States.I want to try my skills in America!

★ Message to working adults and university students aiming for the cooking industry

Even though Japanese people live longer and live to be 100 years old, they only live once.

If you have something you want to do, I think that life will be more fulfilling by trying more and more.

If you are interested in food or cooking, please consider enrolling. You will never regret it.

Thank you very much for your strong advice!

We also offer school tours, open campuses with practical training, and online individual consultations as needed.
