Introduction of adult students Clerical work → YAMANOTE admission

Hello everyone! At YAMANOTE, there are many students who enter our school after working experience.Among them, I was able to hear from a person who entered our school at the age of 2 after experiencing a clerical job for two years after graduating from high school! This time, we interviewed Mr. MT (enrolled in the double license system class).

★Please tell us about your career before entering the school!

After graduating from high school, I worked in a beverage office for two years.

I was originally interested in cooking and confectionery, but my family was against it, and after graduating from a commercial high school, I decided to get a job.

However, I couldn't give up on the path of cooking and making sweets, so I decided to go to school with the money I saved after finding a job.

★What made you want to become a patissier because you are a general confectionery major?

I was originally interested in cooking confectionery since my school days, but when I served rice to my family at home, they were happy and I wanted to make them happy with what I made.

When I was working as a clerical worker every day, I participated in an open campus for cooking and confectionery, which I had been interested in for a long time. I made up my mind.

★What made you decide to enroll in YAMANOTE and why did you choose the school?

The fact that there is practical training every day that other schools don't have, the teacher's atmosphere is bright,

Also, YAMANOTE has teachers who have a lot of experience in the field, so I thought it would be a good learning experience because they would teach me plus knowledge along with explanations during the demonstrations to see the teacher's example.

★Did you have any concerns before entering the school?

I wasn't sure if I would be able to make friends or get along because of the age difference.

At first, I was very worried, but after joining three clubs at YAMANOTE, I got along well with the students as well as the teachers, and I was able to get along better than I had imagined with my classmates who were older than me!

Also, I have made friends with whom I can work hard regardless of age, so I am enjoying my campus life!

★What was good about entering the school?

The teachers are friendly and approachable, so there is an environment where it is easy to ask questions about things you don't understand or want to know.

In addition, since there is practical training every day, it is a place where you can properly acquire knowledge and skills in one year of cooking and one year of confectionery making. It is also reassuring that upon graduation, you will be able to obtain two national qualifications, one as a confectionery hygienist and one as a chef.

★What are your plans after graduation?

I have received a job offer from Mori Building Hospitality Corporation, so I would like to make use of what I learned at school and work immediately!

★ Message to working adults and university students aiming for this field

At YAMANOTE, there is practical training every day, so you can increase your knowledge step by step every day.

It is recommended because you can feel the growth!
